With a background in accounting and credit analysis, Helair Charles completed his BA in Economics at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, where he focused on financial economics, macroeconomic policy, econometrics, and computer science design principles. Helair Charles’s academic training provided a strong analytical foundation for his later work in banking and the credit risk industry within and outside Florida.
Helair Charles started his career as a bookkeeping assistant at JHC Transport in Coconut Creek, Florida. In this role, he managed accounts payable and receivable, reconciled financial records, and maintained the general ledger. He also prepared profit and loss statements and monthly expense reports, while ensuring accurate organization of financial documents such as bills and receipts.
Helair Charles continued to build on his banking experience as a Corporate Finance Credit Intern at Valley Bank in Aventura, Florida. In this position, he conducted detailed financial analysis, including debt service coverage ratios, liquidity assessments, and cash flow evaluations. His work supported senior banking officers in risk analysis and contributed to the management of a large-scale loan portfolio.
